  • To diagnose lesions of the liver.
  • Jewellery and other metal objects should be removed.
  • Pregnant women should inform the radiographer.
  • The images are taken in three phases: the first phase is without the contrast, the second phase is when contrast is injected and the arteries are visualized; the third phase helps to visualize the veins when the contrast is flushed out of the portal veins
  • It is a tool to study aortopulmonary shunts and their clinical implications. It also provides detailed information about any abdominal lesions.
